Two years have now passed since the Norwegian Supreme Court highlighted the human rights violations against the Sami people due to wind power developments on the Fosen peninsula. Despite the passage of time, the situation remains unchanged, and the rights of the Sami community continue to be infringed upon.
In recognition of this ongoing struggle, I was commissioned to craft a new artwork for the two-year demonstration. This poster symbolizes the resilience and determination of the Sami people, featuring a Sami woman standing strong in front of the Norwegian Parliament, representing their unwavering fight for justice and recognition.

Screen printed by 10/10 Tekstiltrykkeri on Munken Pure Rough 300g paper, in a limited edition of 200 copies.
The artwork was exhibited at the annual Juleutstillingen of Kunstnerforbundet in 2023 and at the Oslo Metropolitan University in 2024. The latter institution has acquired the artwork as part of its Sami art collection. Additionally, the artwork has been purchased by the Oslo sámi viessu (Oslo Sami House).
In addition to the primary artwork, I’ve created several variations to fit different needs. These have been used as backdrops at concerts supporting the Fosen demonstrations and as graphics for social media posts.
Earlier this year, I had created another artwork marking the 500-day milestone of this human rights violation. The continuous need for such representations underscores the urgency of the situation. The demonstrations on the 11th of October served as a poignant reminder of the challenges the Sami community faces.
